Beach Selfie
A selfie on the beach. I didn’t have a tripod, so I put the camera on my towel in the sand, set the ten-second timer, and ran into position. The sun, the waves, and that feeling of having nowhere else to be — it was perfect.

Living Life With Passion & Purpose!
A selfie on the beach. I didn’t have a tripod, so I put the camera on my towel in the sand, set the ten-second timer, and ran into position. The sun, the waves, and that feeling of having nowhere else to be — it was perfect.
I turned and faced the Atlantic, marveling at the explorers like Christopher Columbus who had the courage to get on a boat and sail out to the horizon. At the far side of the ocean was America, and I would be going back home there in two weeks. The sun was bright, the waves kept rolling in, and for a moment everything felt connected.
I was so proud of myself in this moment. So much had changed in my mind and my heart about myself and my home. I felt confident and ready to return. I set the self-timer one last time, ran back into position, the clouds cooperated, the sun didn’t overexpose me, and I watched the waves roll in.
