2024 • Project #1

This Christmas, in December, 2024, we are providing a Chocolatada in Iquitos, Peru, for approximately 125 children in Manuela’s family’s neighborhood.

A Chocolatada is a Christmas party, where hot chocolate is served along with small gifts and presents, usually like a pack of crayons, a doll or a toy car. Usually a clown is present to lead the children in dancing and games.

The various neighborhoods in the city have Chocolatadas in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Everyone in the neighborhood turns out for it, and it is a festive and joyous event!

Our target is to raise $500 by July 31. This will allow us to send the money to Manuela’s sister Laura in Iquitos. Laura will then began purchasing the gifts and hot chocolate before the prices rise during the holiday season.
